The Sanfilippo nursery is located in Maletto, a historic city in the Catania area, a few steps from Bronte, the city of pistachios.
The company was born from the passion of the Sanfilippo brothers who have been present for many years in the agricultural sector and especially for the pistachio, its production and export.
The company boasts large spaces, many of which are dedicated to the pistachio itself, a plant of Sicilian excellence.
We have specialized in this sector for several years and we always try to improve our knowledge of the types of rootstock and the most commercial and productive varieties.

We guarantee the highest quality of the entire production variety
Pistachio groves are mainly grown on almost 3,000 hectares of lava soil, with a very limited arable layer, mixed with completely rocky sites, of very little agronomic value, with steep and rugged slopes and not easily accessible.

Terebinthus
The terebinth plant (Pistacia Terebinthus) is born spontaneously and adapts demonstrating great rusticity and resistance to drought, being used as a rootstock for Pistacia Vera (the pistachio).
UCB1 is the emerging rootstock for pistachio cultivation, as it increases production activity.
The grafted plant (pistacia vera) has a biennial production, in fact in the years of discharge (even years) the buds are removed by hand. The male of the plant lives spontaneously and only one manages to cover a very large area, in the local dialect it is called "sconnabeccu" or "sarvaggiu" (wild).

We have specialized in this sector for several years and we always try to improve our knowledge of the types of rootstocks and the most commercial and productive varieties.
We are able to advise and help you plan and implement small and large intensive crops with considerable extensions.
We have qualified personnel who will be able to help you even after the installation of the system for correct management and profitability of the system.
